Cleaning out folders and materials / label incompletes:
Please make certain that your files have been cleaned out from previous semesters and that any incomplete folders are up to date. We do not transition materials from semester to semester without your input.  We are currently doing clean-up, and you will receive any materials not labeled "incomplete" back in the mail, so many of you no longer have folders in the file.

Labeling tests
We administered 4,194 distance tests in fall 2004. We want to thank those of you who adhered to the testing policies last semester; we appreciate your efforts to continue to work with us to make the test process work well for us, for you and for the students.  Lack of names on tests means that our process does not run as smoothly as we would like.  It makes little sense to check student IDs if there are not names on tests.  We are also not always certain that we are giving students the correct test.  We have a number of different staff who handle tests during our hours; if all of you will label in a uniform manner, the possibility of errors on our parts will be reduced. For us, the best way to identify tests is using the labels that can be requested and adhered to each test.  To order labels:

JOBREQUEST@vw.vccs.edu with the following message: Distance Learning Class labels Please include the five digit class number 17406 with the class id  psy 238 V1

Please make certain that tests are clearly labeled with regard to course title, course number, chapter(s) being tested, the instructor's name, and the semester the test is to be administered.  A TESTING INFORMATION SHEET should also be filled out for each set of tests.

Fortunately, we have had very few problems with tests being sent to the wrong person.  If a mistake in mailing does occur, the test finds it way to the correct person very quickly if labeling for the class is appropriate.

One of the problems that occurs each semester is that instructors have tests held sometimes and sent at other times.  We will try to accommodate this as we understand that campus mail does not always get to you in an expedient manner.  You need to realize, however, that we follow the directions on the INFORMATION SHEET  and as many as ten different people handle tests, so the fewer changes, the fewer problems.  Some of you like to have tests held and sent out on a specific date;  this practice does not work well for us.  Generally, the process works better if we either send or hold, or if you want things sent on a specific day, you should request that we hold them and then call us to send on that specific day.

We ask for picture I.D. from each person taking a test in the LTC.
