Virginia Western's Social Sciences program is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university and major in a field in the area of social sciences. The program has been approved by the Virginia Community College System and the State Council of Higher Education as a transfer degree. In addition, Virginia Western's distance learning activities are accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
